Reservations and Cancellation Policy:
To confirm a reservation a $300 deposit is required. Final payment is due May 1, 2008. Second payment of $700.00 is due Feb.1, 2008. Cancellation more than 90 days prior to departure is $150; cancellation from 89 - 65 days prior to departure is $250; cancellation from 64 to 45 days prior to departure is $500.00 and cancellation less than 45 days prior to departure will have no refund unless replacement is found. Name change on ticket is $150.00.

There is a $15.00 charge for all returned checks. We recommend trip cancellation insurance.

Background:

The itinerary below is offered as an optional extension to your main New Horizon Tours package to South Africa. It slots in seamlessly with the latter. It is operated by contracting scheduled services from local ground operators in order to make it flexible and allow different variations for you to choose from. You have the option of adding extra nights in Victoria Falls Town if you prefer (at time of booking your tour).

You may also choose to extend your trip further by adding the Cape Town extension to run back-to-back with your Victoria Falls trip (available even if you opt for extra nights in Victoria Falls). Depending on the number of tour members who enrol for the various options you may share some of the included excursions / transfers with new faces from various countries around the world.

Itinerary

Saturday, July 12 - Last day of main tour

Today's itinerary is as per your main tour itinerary. On your return to Johannesburg, tour members who are returning home will depart from Johannesburg International Airport. Those who have opted for the Victoria Falls extension will be transferred to the nearby Southern Sun Johannesburg International Hotel, where you will spend the night before departing for Victoria Falls late tomorrow morning.

Sunday, July 13 - Johannesburg to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

After a late breakfast you transfer to Johannesburg International Airport with the hotel's courtesy shuttle to board your International flight to Victoria Falls Airport. Your departure is scheduled for 11:25, arriving at 13:00 (1h35min). A meal is served during the flight.

You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport in the small arrivals section. From there you will head to the nearby Victoria Falls Town and the actual Victoria Falls just beyond. You will do a guided tour of the Falls (1.5 hours). You'll have an opportunity to return to the Falls on your own tomorrow, if you so prefer.

From the Falls you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening you will enjoy a Boma Dinner (traditional enclosure with fire pit) with cultural programme just outside of town.

Monday, July 14 - Full day for optional adventure / wilderness activities

Your tour of the Victoria Waterfalls was conducted on the day of your arrival, in order to allow a full day to engage in activities of your choice today. These activities are all optionals, i.e. for your own account. You may book these activities through your hotel's tours desk after your arrival or you may pre-book them through us.

Optional activities include:

Elephant back safari
Lion encounters (walking in the bush with young lions)
White water rafting ½ day or full day
Bungi jumping (2^nd highest commercial site in the world)
JetBoat trips
Helicopter flip over the falls
Fixed wing aircraft flip over the falls

For a good idea of what is on offer in and around Victoria Falls, have a look at Shearwater Adventures' website at: www.shearwateradventures.com. The company started life as a specialist white water rafting company, operating trips on what is generally accepted to be the best white water rafting run in the world - the Zambezi River in the narrow gorge below the Victoria Falls. It still specialises in this awesome activity. However it is also the best operator / broker for most other activities in the region. If you prefer, we can pre-book activities for you through Shearwater. We add no mark-up, thus you get your chosen activity at exactly the same rate you will pay once in-country.

Depending on whether you choose one of the above activities and the length of your chosen activity you will probably have a lot of time left to return to the Falls on your own and explore this magnificent natural wonder at your own leisure (entrance fee on own account).

Late afternoon you will be picked up for the ever-popular sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, upstream from the Falls. You will be returned to your hotel in time for dinner.

Tuesday, July 15 - Victoria Falls to Johannesburg International

Enjoy your last morning in the Victoria Falls region. You will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. The flight's scheduled departure is at 13:30, arriving at15:00. This will leave you more than enough time to connect with your home-bound flight.

Extra night(s) and/or Cape Town extension:

We offer the option of spending an extra night or nights in Victoria Falls, before returning to Johannesburg. This will enable you to engage in more of the activities on offer or to have a day or two at leisure before departing on the long-haul trip for home.

You also have the option of adding the other optional extension, to Cape Town, to follow on the Victoria Falls extension. If you choose this option you will return to Johannesburg together with the other tour members who enrolled for the Victoria Falls extension, from where you will board a Cape Town-bound flight. This option is available whether you opt for extra nights in Victoria Falls or not.
